Ent-Grove operated as a specialized sub-division of Leafly, functioning as a dedicated B2B supply and logistics arm. They focused exclusively on sourcing and distributing select, high-demand marijuana strains tailored for Leafly’s network. By combining the resources of an industry leader with the agility of a boutique distributor, Ent-Grove streamlined the supply chain to ensure consistent quality and efficient distribution.

ENT-GROVE PACKAGING DESIGN

The Challenges

  • Matching Yet Distinct Packaging: Creating a look that keeps the main brand recognizable across the whole lineup while making it easy for customers to spot different strains instantly.

  • Testing Different Looks & Finishes: Seeing how various colors, backgrounds, and shiny metallic or clean white finishes would actually look side by side on dispensary shelves.

  • Fitting All the Details: Organically fitting required strain info (like Indica/Sativa/Hybrid, THC strength, and mood effects) onto the label without crowding the main artwork.

The Solutions

  • Custom Strain Icons: Built a flexible label layout that pairs with a unique, custom-drawn icon for each strain, giving every flavor its own fun, standout personality.

  • Label Mockups & Color Options: Created a variety of style samples from rich black-and-gold looks to clean white-and-blue palettes so the client could easily pick the best look before printing.

  • Organized Info Boxes: Set aside a specific, easy-to-read section for potency and effect details, keeping the important product info readable while the background colors change for each strain.

Ent-Grove Logo & Mascot Design

The Challenges

  • A Subtle Industry Nod: Designing a clean, professional logo that hints at cannabis culture without using overdone or cheesy clichés.

  • Blending Shapes into Text: Turning a real-life object into a custom letter shape while making sure the brand name stays easy to read.

  • Mascot Sizing & Detail: Handling the client's original request for super-detailed tree characters representing different tree types (like Oak and Evergreen), which would have gotten blurry and lost detail when printed on smaller items.

The Solutions

  • The "Hidden" Bong Logo: Shaped the letter "G" to subtly look like a classic glass bong, giving the sleek text logo a fun, clever hidden detail for those who notice it.

  • Keeping the Mascot Simple: Guided the client away from over-complicated tree monsters toward a single, cleaner character design. This made sure the friendly, strong tree mascot looks great on everything from a huge storefront sign to a tiny product label.

  • Show-and-Tell Concepting: Created side-by-side design samples comparing the complex, species-specific tree monsters against the simpler mascot, proving how a cleaner design works much better in the real world.
